Relationship Development Guidelines
At Joffe Emergency Services we recognize wholesome relationship development as a healthy and nurturing dimension of the educational experience. Positive relationships among students and between students and professional staff are part of our traditional and integral to our excellence.
We also understand from our own history and the experiences of other organizations that environments that serve children have been used by some adults to cultivate inappropriate relationships and even sexual abuse of children and young people. After careful consideration, consultation with experts, and the collaborative work of our stakeholders, including staff, students, parents, board members, and alumni, we have agreed as a community to adhere to specific behavioral guidelines designed to articulate our collective understanding of interactions that are welcome and appropriate in our educational environment and those that are not acceptable or permitted between adult staff members and the children and young people we serve.
