At Joffe Emergency Services, our mission is to shape and improve school, business, and event safety. We believe safety should be fun, empowering, and transformative. By staying true to our mission, we’ve helped protect millions of lives since 2007.

Each interaction you have with preparedness should be matched with a deeper investment and a more powerful understanding. That’s why we’re in the business of professionalizing the field of emergency and disaster education. When communities we’ve engaged with understand the underlying concepts without fear or apprehension, we believe we’ve succeeded. Every successful training, drill, or life saved is cause for celebration, and every challenge is an opportunity.

Our strong commitment to excellence has given us the edge in technology, resources, and partnerships, providing the best possible solutions to our clients for any emergency situation that may arise. Responding to the very emergencies we train our communities to prevent allows us incredibly authentic real-world scenarios and a unique ability to understand our communities’ culture.

In addition, we offer clients several levels of preparedness with our vitals and essentials plans, as well as an online webinar series alternative. Products such as emergency food and water, lockdown kits, and AEDs are available to order.

Chris Joffe

Chris has helped protect millions of lives since 2007. Based on the belief that people have the power to save lives through education and training, Chris has built Joffe Emergency Services to become the leader in life-saving training, event safety, and disaster preparedness. Chris has flown commercial so much that he's becoming a pilot now. Seriously. Ask him for a ride somewhere.

Andrew Barrett-Weiss

With more than ten years leading organizational operations and culture, Andrew has had extensive experience with emergency planning, communication, and protocols to ensure safe communities. Andrew helps schools and businesses develop organizational capacity to manage new situations and the skills to address any situation a community may encounter with a process-oriented approach.

Rebecca Raber

With a background in strategic communications and media relations, Rebecca has spent the past decade partnering with schools and education organizations to help them navigate internal and external communication during crisis situations. Rebecca is excited to continue working with schools at Joffe as she leads the effort to grow and scale the School Safety Division. A Bay Area native, Rebecca loves hitting the local trails in her home region with her husband and her active two year old, Ava.

Felicia Gonsalez

Felicia leads Get CPR Done with over 15 years of career experience in EMS, Fire Service and Security starting with a Field Level Fire Academy, Fire Life Safety, Suppression, Operations and Security. Felicia is passionate about training and professional development. She has the real life field experience which translates into a unique dynamic that she loves to share in the classroom. Her biggest challenge yet is to find a way to tire out her kids by bedtime…

Hope Kaye

After working for years in non-profit operations and logistics, Hope transitioned into the field of emergency response to work more directly with her community in the Bay Area. As an EMT, she worked on an ambulance and volunteered as a Reserve Firefighter with San Francisco Fire Department, before deciding to shift her focus toward preparedness. In her spare time, she is a dancer, exercise fiend, avid crossword puzzler, and slightly obsessive aunt.

Lauryn Goodtree

Lauryn hails from a background as an EMT in Israel, as well as a wildland firefighter. Her enthusiasm for disaster preparedness has most recently led her to focus on her own local community. She has a variety of volunteer positions including with Red Cross, Alexandria Fire Department, Medical Reserve Corps, Team Rubicon, and as a Family Preparedness coordinator for Volunteer Alexandria. Her training experience fuels her eagerness to strengthen her local schools, institutions, businesses, and families.

Mike Edwards

Mike worked in higher education for the last nine years, most recently as a Dean at the Claremont Colleges. His duties included managing residential life, housing and serving as the lead on-call administrator. In this role he led safety and preparedness trainings for students and staff, and was responsible for responding to emergency situations. For the last decade, Mike has been a member and trainer for his local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). In this capacity he helped launch a Teen CERT for the high school. He enjoys camping and hiking and is a certified Wilderness First Responder. Mike earned a B.A. in Race & Ethnic Studies and a M.A. in Education from the University of Redlands.

Dr. Shannon Wasley

Shannon comes to Joffe with over 20 years of combined experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, a CPR/AED/First Aid instructor, and a security professional. She has served in varying roles in an independent school for 16 years, most recently as the Director of Health, Safety, and Security, and is passionate about helping people help others through training. She holds a doctorate in Clinical Forensic Psychology and is currently an adjunct professor who teaches courses in threat assessment, family violence, and mental health law. Shannon also works in animal rescue in the Los Angeles area and has had over 90 foster dogs in her home, (though not all at the same time). Interestingly, while she has completed two full and two half-Los Angeles marathons, she still insists on finding the closest parking space to any store entrance when driving.

Darren Dale

Darren has worked in the healthcare field since becoming an ER tech at a level I trauma center in 1998. He's since worked both in an out of the hospital as an ER Tech, EMT, and Advanced EMT doing street EMS, standby EMS for 50k+ person events, and in the urgent care environment. He has a strong belief in preparation, training and continuing education, and has completed advanced training in Disaster Life Support & Medical Life Support. During a break from working in healthcare Darren worked as a writer and editor, and spent time as a photojournalist. He continues to write and edit today when he's not out on the water sailing or settled down with a good book. He is enrolled in Paramedic school.

Chui Yeung

Chui brings her experience in international marketing and data analysis to the Joffe team. She manages Joffe's marketing platform while creating, optimizing, and analyzing campaigns. She is trilingual. She loves to read, cook and talk about her two cats.

Cecile Garcia

Cecile comes from working in the entertainment industry in a variety of roles. Her experiences in studio finance, client services, and writing help her tackle operations for all the divisions of Joffe. She also enjoys editing the company newsletter and helping create and edit content for the marketing team. In her free time, she can be found traveling, visiting National Parks, snorkeling, and solving cryptic crosswords.

Kevin Kahn

An Eagle Scout and avid outdoor adventurer with a background in field event and production management, Kevin has often been key when advancing to new cities and sites for Avon Breast Cancer Walks, Tanqueray AIDS rides, high-profile shoots for MTV and Spike, and others. Because of Kevin's proven ability to work kindly with multiple team leaders to ensure successful transactions, his position at Joffe is to secure the same for Field Event and Fixed Venue clients.

Yoshi Wilson

Yoshi leads one of our school security teams as their Director of Security. Her day includes greeting students in the morning with warm and authentic enthusiasm, supporting pickup and dropoff, leading training and exercises for her team and the school itself, and responding to calls for service throughout the school community.

Yoshi's favorite animal is a miniature husky.

Amanda Butch

Amanda is a UCLA graduate with a BS in biology, working her way towards becoming a Physician Assistant. She has a passion for science and medicine, which she brings to her position as a Health Aide for Joffe. She loves doing hot yoga and has a secret obsession with food documentaries.

Jonathan Moran

From 2005-2011, Jonathan served as a Navy Corpsman (Medic) during the Iraq/Afghanistan war. After completion of his military contract, he pursued a career in medicine by obtaining his B.S. in Biology from UCLA. He began working in the EMS world as an EMT on an ambulance and as a Field EMT for Joffe events. Now, he brings those skills to his health coordinator position. He is also studying for the MCAT so he may one day be accepted into medical school and pursue his dream of becoming an emergency medicine doctor.

Bobby Decker

After starting as one of Joffe’s security officers, Bobby now belongs to the marketing team. He enjoys finding the right turn of phrase and building relationships with schools and organizations across the country. As a sports enthusiast (some would say “nut”), his one wish is for an Atlanta sports team to win a championship. Bobby also hopes you will subscribe to our blog.

Gabe Archibald

Gabe is an Area Ambassador in Denver, Colorado. He has been a paramedic for six years, working in multiple capacities: in-hospital, on a 911 ambulance, and at events. Gabe is focused on new market development, event management, and logistics. He is dedicated to keeping events safe and leading the event safety teams in his respective region.

Maria Ramirez

Maria has worked as a campus officer for 16 years including assisting the gang unit and Irving Police Department near Dallas. She is currently a lead security officer at one of Joffe's schools. Her motto is "prevention is the key to success in security." Creating a safe and secure environment for her school campus is her priority.

Lindsey Derouen

Lindsey comes to Joffe with a background in administrative roles, marketing, and sales. She is the executive assistant to Founder and CEO, Chris Joffe. Her focus is on streamlining planning, scheduling, and organization for Chris and the Joffe team. Lindsey enjoys cooking, sunsets, and spending time with friends and family.
