Friend,

Our Joffe team is looking forward to seeing many of you in Atlanta next week for Industry Safety Day, hosted in collaboration with our friends at Running USA! Our partnership with Running USA is one of many key partnerships we are leaning into this fall that we are excited to tell you about.

At Joffe, we’ve been focusing on strengthening relationships with industry professionals, emergency responders, Subject Matter Experts, and venue and event organizers  to help us (and you!)  become better prepared for the unexpected. Here are a few initiatives and resources we’re working on (more info on each of these resources below in the newsletter):

  • Command Pod First Responder Series - Season 2 of The Command Pod is focused this fall on panels of public safety professionals sharing how event and venue managers can advance their safety programs. We’ve all seen how quickly an emergency situation can escalate, and in those moments, having well-established relationships with first responders makes all the difference. These partnerships allow for seamless coordination, quicker response times, and ultimately, better outcomes. Watch our recording of our Fire Professionals from last month’s Command Pod.
  • Fentanyl Awareness and Response - Joffe’s Health Services department leans in to provide practical insights designed to prepare your teams to handle fentanyl-related incidents. This knowledge empowers us all  to enhance safety measures, potentially saving lives and reducing liability risks associated with fentanyl-related emergencies at events.
  • Run, Hide, Fight Training Module - This Joffe Academy module was developed in collaboration with Katherine Schweit, mass shooting expert and creator of the FBI’s Active Shooter Program. This training module equips participants with the essential skills to respond to an active shooter situation. It introduces the FBI/DHS-recommended Run Hide Fight response protocols, offering trauma-informed, practical advice incorporating best practices, all taught by the person who created and ran the FBI's Active Shooter program, Katherine Schweit. As a Joffe advisory board member, trusted Subject Matter Expert, and invaluable partner, we are grateful to host this important training video on our learning platform.

At the end of the day, it all comes back to relationships and partnerships – working together to ensure the safety and well-being of our communities. If you’d like to discuss any of the topics in this issue or how we can support your event safety initiatives, we’re here and ready to help.

Respectfully,
