With critical functions established, Joffe will build layers of redundancy to ensure there are infrastructural checks and balances, as well as programmatic backups. Redundancies include backups for technological systems, vendor diversification, and multi-leveled communication systems, both internal and external.

Phase 3: Strategy & Plan Development

To flesh out and reinforce the BCP plan, Joffe will conduct a post-disaster tabletop and drill. A tabletop will include an individual from each disaster team to simulate a disaster. They will utilize the knowledge and expertise to provide a logistical outline of how, when, and where they would build their base, determine their next steps, and ensure the safety of all their employees.

It’s been said that repetition is the best way to learn something. Once your plan is in place, it needs to be continually tested and maintained to ensure all systems and backups continue to function as they should when a disaster strikes. This not only keeps everyone on their toes, but keeps teams functioning and up to speed on any changes.
